The group wants to increase their air traffic to Iran and complete packages of services necessary for the 70% of passengers visiting Iran for family and tourist purposes, as well as the other 30% who visit the country for business. The market Lufthansa mentions they mostly focus on is the European, with special focus on Germany. However, the unmentioned American and Canadian markets play an at least as large role for travelers to Iran for the airline.
Aviation Iran has previously reported the Lufthansa Group has increased presence in Iran. New flights from Vienna to Isfahan and from Munich to Tehran are on the agenda. Increased capacity on the Frankfurt – Tehran will be seen, as the operating aircraft will be switched from A340 to B747.
