Tehran Imam Khomeini Airport City’s (IKAC) Deputy Director of Administrative Affairs, announced that the airport is negotiating with a number of foreign airlines to commence services to Tehran in an interview with Farsnews.
When talking about the state of the airlines operating out of Tehran Imam Khomeini Airport (Tehran-IKA), He said that the airport has no major problems with foreign airlines, besides a debt which British Airways has promised to repay.
Tehran-IKA currently negotiates with airlines from South Korea, Singapore, Canada and Australia. Previously reported, Tehran-IKA announced Air Canada’s interest in operating flights from Montreal to Tehran. In November 2016, Iran and Australia agreed to launch direct flights.
Some of the aforementioned airlines may start flights to Tehran in 4 months, He told. Negotiations with other undisclosed airlines are reportedly also held.
It is since before confirmed that LOT Polish Airlines is set to launch flights from Warsaw and Cobalt Air from Cyprus.
None of the subjected airlines has so far confirmed the claims by Tehran-IKA.
